Portal Spotlight

Our brand-new module resources provide tools for more in-depth follow up conversations with teachers, faculty and instructional coaches. On the dashboard, you will find the new Learner, Facilitator and the Coach Overview as resources for defined
roles. Each module homepage also now includes a Setting the Stage document for building background knowledge on the module and an interactive Note Taking Guide for guided questions during module viewing.

The Critical Role of the Coach

Whether due to direct exposure to violence or the instantaneous and repeated online viewing of trauma, student stress is high. Author Jill Harrison Berg describes the impact on teachers. “We too are wincing from shocking accounts about what is
happening to fellow humans and to our environment, unnerved by the unexpected speech and actions coming from individuals in powerful positions, and reeling from the amount of change happening in the world.” Check out her article on the importance of creating a brave space for critical conversations about
trauma and violence.

Congrats CCSU
